Excessive amount of discharge?

For the passed couple of months I've been having a very excessive amount of discharge coming from my vagina. I was wondering if this was common in girls my age (15) I went to go see a gynecologist and she said nothing was wrong but i still don't understand why i have so much discharge? can someone please try to explain why to me? is this normal?
