Want to plan a baby :) where do i start?

i love kids :) me and my husband want to plan a baby soon. we want to plan it months before of course, maybe a year from now... i have not seen a gynecologist yet. will soon. but where do i start? are there certain vitamins. pills i should take? are there certain questions i should ask my gynecologist? i haven't seen one yet because i don't have insurance and i wanted to see how much they charge first, if its not expensive i don't mind paying, but if it is then I'll just wait for my benefits to come in (my husband just recently joined the air force) so if u can help that would be great :) thank you :)
