The situation in Afghanistan is a no win situation for the U.S. and coalition forces. True or false?

If the U.S. and coalition forces stay, the Taliban will simply do steady attacks and wait it out until the U.S. leaves. If the U.S. and coalition forces leave, there will be instability and most likely a civil war in Afghanistan. Either way, the Taliban will move back into the areas in Afghanistan and they will control them again. Do you agree with this reasoning?
