IM CONFUSED PLEASE HELP! GUYS &GIRLS~?

alright so me and this guy started talking about 2 weeks ago. i have know him for years but we started texting each other everyday for about 2 weeks. i really like him we have so much in common and we have a lot of fun talking. he told me he likes me too. everything was great until last night. we were talking and then he texted me saying "things feel awkward between us idk why though" and i told him i didn't think things were awkward. and he wrote back "ok....." then i felt really awkward so i asked him if i should go and talk to him tomorrow so things can settle down. and he blew up on me asking me if i was giving up on him and how could i f*cking say that to him. i told him that i really liked him and i was giving up on him i just didn't want to make him feel uncomfortable. then he started cursing at me and yelling at me. i was so upset i told him i was sorry and if we could please forget about it and he said " no we f*cking cant". i am so confused i dont think i did anything wrong. he is really pissed at me and didn't text me at all today. why is he being like this? what should i do? help please! thankss;)
