Question about hiv test results?

I went to the gynecologist yesterday because i wanted to get tested for HIV because although i have been with the same partner for almost 6 years and neither of us have had any other relations in the time we have been together probably about 7-8 years ago i had unprotected sex with a few partner so i wanted to get tested. They did a blood test and sent it to the hospital that was yesterday around noon. I ask how long results take from a few of the nurses one said it can take until the middle of next week, another said 24 hours and my gynecologist said to call Friday but i am freaking out should they have the results if they sent them to a hospital by now and if i am positive would they contacted me? I am going crazy with worry. Any advice would help.
